ABSTRACT:

In this paper, an inventory model for deteriorating items with selling price and credit period sensitive demand is developed. The inventory system deals with products which have a fixed expiry date after which the product cannot be sold. Here, a permissible delay period is allowed by the supplier to the retailer to pay all his dues, but if the retailer doesn’t pay the entire amount at the end of the delay period, an interest will be charged on the remaining dues. The shortages are also allowed and partially backlogged. This paper provides a procedure to develop the total retailer’s profit function per unit time of the system and optimal ordering quantity per cycle for the retailer. Finally, the model is illustrated with numerical examples.

Effects of heat and mass flux on MHD free convection flow through a porous medium in presence of radiation and chemical reaction

ABSTRACT:

The present study deals with thermal radiation effect on two dimensional magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) natural convection boundary layer flow of viscous fluid surrounded by porous vertical surface with heat source, chemical reaction and radiation effect. The governing partial differential equations have been converted into a set of ordinary differential equations using non dimensional quantities. Perturbation technique has been employed to solve the system of partial differential equations. Most of the studies so far have presented the numerical and semi analytical solution for flow velocity and temperature in the form of a series solution. The effects of various parameters on flow variables are illustrated graphically, and the physical aspects of the problem are discussed. It has been observed that the velocity increase with increasement in permeability and radiation parameters and reverse trend has been found with respect to magnetic parameter.

ABSTRACT:

In this article, multiply type II censored observation from Rayleigh model is considered. Using conjugate prior for parameter, predictive pdf, hence and predictive limits are obtained. We also obtained prediction limits for double, mid censoring as well. A Monte Carlo study of 1000 randomly generated sample is performed and prediction limits for different censoring scheme is compared.

ABSTRACT:

In the proposed paper the basic logical cells like inverter, NOR and NAND are realized using n-type and p-type CNTFET. These blocks are used to implement seven function reconfigurable logic blocks. The VHDL code, simulation and synthesized results are generated on Xilinx 9.2 platform. The designed circuit is FPGA programmed on Altera kit.

ABSTRACT:

In this manuscript a study of the unsteady magneto-hydrodynamic mixed convection Jeffrey fluid flow over an inclined permeable moving plate in presence of thermal radiation, heat generation, thermophoresis effect and homogenous chemical reaction, subjected to variable suction has been undertaken. The governing equations are solved by using a regular perturbation technique. The expressions for the distributions of velocity, temperature and species concentration are obtained. With the aid of these, the expressions for skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number also have been derived. The influences of various physical parameters involved in the problem on the above mentioned quantities are discussed with the help of graphs and tables. From the significant findings, it has been found that the velocity increases with an increase in Soret number in the presence of permeability. It shows reverse effects in the case of heat absorption coefficient, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter and chemical reaction parameter.

ABSTRACT:

Weathering and erosion of rocks are the main cause for the formation of mineral deposits in beach sand and soil.There are quite a few identified monazite sand-bearing placer deposits causing environmental high radiation area along its long coastline of Kerala and Tamil Nadu in India. The extent and effects of the radioactivity in the regions like Chavara and Neendakara in Kollam, Kerala is well known. Following a pilot study along the southern west coast of Kerala state, India we found certain regions with higher levels of natural radioactivity. Later made a detailed investigation of activity concentration of 226Ra, radon exhalation rates and radon emanating factor of those locations namely Kovalam and Varkala. The results indicates that most of the soil sample shows higher specific activity of 226Ra and there is a linear relation to 222Rn mass exhalation rate. But radon emanation factor is not so linear to the specific activity of Radium in sample analysed.

ABSTRACT:

The object of the present paper is to study 3-dimensional β- Kenmotsu manifolds whose metric is Ricci soliton with respect to Schouten- van Kampen connection. We found the condition for the Ricci soliton structure to be invariant under Schouten-van Kampen connection. We have also showed that the Ricci soliton structure with respect to usual Levi-Civita connection transforms to a η-Ricci soliton structure under D-homothetic deformation. Finally we have shown that if a 3-dimensional β-Kenmotsu manifold admits a Ricci soliton structure with respect to Schouten-van Kampen connection and potential vector field as the Reeb vector field, then the manifold becomes K -contact Einstein.
